1, Designs of medals and Ribbons.
You should know the logo of your events and what sports will have in your events. Mostly, the logo of events must make on medals, names or signs of sports will on medals too. You can make the designs by yourselves if possible. Or just send the logo and idea to the medal factory, they will provide artwork of medals and ribbons for approved as usual. 2, Budget.
It is importance to know about your budget, include all fee. Such as the delivery cost and tooling cost. Medal factory will know how to make medals as your budget if enough information. The designs of medal will not useful if cost far away from your budget.
3, Ranking.
Gold color, silver color and copper color (or antique gold, antique silver, antique copper/ bronze color) for medals as choice if there will top three get the award. Number on medals will good choice if there will be more than top three to be award. Such as there 6 place, as normal the number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 made on medals. To save mould cost, the number ranking will be suggested made by laser engraved or printed.
4, Expected QTY.
Medal factory will ask for enough time for production. It will not only good for manufacturers to Schedule, but also it help ensure of medal’s quality. You know, the rush production will hard to make good quality. So we should make order early to the manufacturers.
Although time is early, but medal’s QTY should confirm at that time, the latest time is no later than samples approved.
It will not a good choice to add QTY after bulk medals production had forward. Because unit cost of medals will higher as small QTY. Actually, the add small QTY will be made as a new order if can not move with bulk products, small order will high cost. You could try to communicate with your manufacturers if necessary. They will keep same price for you if possible.
5,Production Time.
When we talk about production time, we should not forget the artwork time. It will not spend extra time if your designs are good for tooling, but if your designs not good enought for production or it will be necessary to make 3D artwork for approved, then there may be 2-3 days spent.
Sample time (include tooling) will about 5-7 days as normal.
After that, you should consider if you would like to get samples at hand to check quality, or it will be ok to check only photoes from medal factory. The difference of the two methods is save time of delivery or not.
For the production time, it will not only difference as designs and QTY, but it will also impacted by medal factory’s schedule. Time will longer if designs complex requested more crafts process. It will be easy to understand that time will longer if large QTY. Time will longer if medal factory very busy.
As the reason as above, it will hard to know accurate production time now. We could only tell approx time as normal for reference: 0-1K will be spent about 10-15 days, 1K-2K will be spent about 15-18 days, 3K will be ask for about 18-20 days, 5K will be about 25 days…
